Course Descriptions:

The Marathon and Half will start on Main Street in front of the Olympic Speedskating Oval at 8:00 a.m. on race day in a mass start format.

Athletes will proceed along charming Main Street past the Post Office and through the center of town for the first half mile. Everyone will then proceed clockwise around Mirror Lake on Mirror Lake Drive. Just past the tennis courts, all will turn left on Parkside Drive. At the end of Parkside Dr, athletes will turn right down the hill past the traffic light on to Sentinel Rd. The course proceeds out Route 73, turning left at the bottom of the Ski Jumps hill, going out and back (approx 3 miles) on River Road.

Coming back on River Rd at the Ski Jumps, athletes will turn right and continue into town. The Half Marathon athletes will turn left at the intersection of Sentinel Rd and Mill Pond Dr to head up to the finish.

LAKE PLACID MARATHON™: All athletes for both the Half Marathon and Marathon will follow the same LOOP 1(Half Marathon) course. At the end of loop 1, Marathon athletes will turn around just past Lisa G's Restaurant(Sentinel Rd and Mill Pond Dr.) and head back out southbound on Sentinel Rd.

Marathon athletes will turn left into the Horse Show Grounds, complete a small loop and turn left towards River Road. They will travel to the end of River Rd (approx 4 miles), turn around and come back. Upon passing the Ski Jumps on their left, they will turn right into the Horse Show Grounds for a 2nd time and complete the small loop AGAIN before turning right into town to finish.
